Your appointment takes place online through a private, secure video session with Dr. Kelly Richardson, DNP, PMHNP-BC. Sessions typically last 45–60 minutes, and you don’t need a diagnosis to qualify. It’s not about passing or failing; it’s about making sure your decision is supported and your mental health is considered as part of your overall outcome.
We review your mental health history, current concerns, and any past treatment experiences.
We discuss your surgical expectations, your motivation for the procedure, and your support system.
We review your coping skills and how you plan to handle the stress of post-surgical recovery.
If everything is in good standing, a formal clearance letter is issued and can be sent directly to your surgical team; if support is needed first, we’ll explain exactly what steps are recommended.
